Sometimes it’s difficult to find the guitar that’s right for you among a sea of cookie cutter designs and models. When you customize your guitar, it can turn a normal, unassuming electric bass into a personalized work of art. Experienced musicians can tell you their instrument is an extension of themselves. It’s difficult to imagine getting a true extension of yourself when it’s designed by a stranger or even worse a machine.
Unless you have someone craft it for you, you’re only going to get a guitar a company thought you would like, not what you actually like. These creations are perfect in most cases, but there are times when they’re not going to meet your needs. Since a lot of us can’t build guitars all by yourself, you have to depend on the shops that accept custom orders.
When you customize a guitar and don’t copy a lot of elements from other guitars on the market, you’re going to have a one of a kind instrument. Unless you make the mistake of putting your name on it or some other kind of element that wouldn’t mean anything to anyone else but you, you could fetch a pretty penny for it in the marketplace. If it’s overly customized, it will have more sentimental value than monetary value. This wouldn’t be good if you have to move on to your next instrument. You change as a person, so it’s understandable that you will need to change your instrument. |
