Guitar Cases

Once you get a guitar, you need to figure out what you’re going to transport and store it in.  You can’t have it loose in a car or sitting in an attic.  That’s a good way to damage your instrument and serious players know how nerve-wracking it is when their instrument is damaged.  A guitar is like an egg.  If you get a bunch of loose eggs and put them in a plastic bag to take home, odds are you’re going to have a goopy bag of yolk by the time you pull in your driveway.  Guitars are the same way.
A guitar is also like an investment.  You want to make sure this investment is taken care of if you want to play it or eventually end up doing anything in music.  Investments that are well taken care of pay enormous dividends when it comes to the put up or shut up moment.
Guitar cases can come in one of two forms: soft or hard.  If you choose a soft case, you still need to be careful because it’s more or less a backpack for your instrument rather than a way to transport it safely.  These days they make hard cases that could have a bullet pass through them and still keep your instrument in perfect condition.  The problem here is weight.  Hard cases that are even the slighted bit thick can end up being heavy.

You poured your blood, sweat and tears into choosing your instrument.  It was a painstaking process to narrow down the guitars to the one that is perfect for you.  Do the same thing for when you’re looking for a case.  It’s better to be safe than sorry.
