If you go with a guitar from one of these six brands, you’re likely going to find a majority of the cream of the crop in terms of rare and collectible electric guitars.

Owners of rare and collectible electric guitars swear they’re more works of art than musical instruments.  They take care of them as if they were priceless paintings hanging in a museum.  If you look at how much these guitars are worth, you can find some that sell for as much as paintings, if not more. 

Les Paul guitars, which are under the Gibson brand, often come with the highest price tag in the marketplace.  This is no surprise considering the reverence people have for this brand of guitars.  They are to guitars as what Stradivarius violins are to violins.  Granted, you’re not going to see them going for millions of dollars like Stradivarius violins, but they will get close on their road to someone’s guitar shrine.

When looking for rare and collectible electric guitars, show discretion before you choose the one that’s right for you.  There are a lot of fakes in the marketplace.  Go with trusted vendors and check and double-check to see if what you’re buying is genuine.  You don’t want to throw down thousands upon thousands of dollars on a guitar that’s bogus.
