Vintage Guitar Accessories

Modern guitar accessories are all well and good, but they don’t give you the imperfect, gritty sound that was present in music 30 or 40 years ago.  The difference between the sound created by music equipment and accessories from previous eras and what we’re hearing now is like night and day.  The evolution of music equipment is similar to that of modern medicine in that it continues to progress and grow and is much better than it used to be.
Musicians who are looking for an old school sound should use old school equipment (that’s in working order, of course).  If the older equipment you choose is in working order, the sound you will get from it will be second to none.  If you don’t want to put these classics into service, you can put them on your mantle with your priceless Les Paul and sit back and admire their beauty.
Guitar picks haven’t changed over the years, but it can far in rounding out the old school feel.  If you’re going to go with a vintage amplifier, you might as well include a vintage pick, strap and guitar case too. All of this is made even better if they’re used on or with a vintage guitar.  Mixing vintage with modern doesn’t make sense.  Go vintage all the way or don’t go vintage at all.
Show that you have a true sense of guitar history with your vintage ensemble.  Make sure you have genuine vintage accessories.  People from previous eras are always willing to tell you how bogus your vintage stuff is.
