Vintage bass guitars

When Leo Fender took aim with his 1951 creation, the name “Precision” could double as a description of how well he took that aim.  He took the world by storm and revolutionized the way we think about bass guitars, not to mention their impact on the music they participated in.  From here, the great bass players of generations who have since burned themselves out on drugs (we still love you, Ozzie) or died in plane crashes took hold of these bass guitars and made them into legends.  Vintage bass guitars are hot collectors items which continue to see a major increase in value as time goes on and, you'll know this when you play one, they also successfully beat out most modern bass guitars in terms of sound quality.

Even today, the more famous musicians are backed up by vintage bass guitars which made a name for themselves in the 50s, 60s, and 70s.  There are a lot of names which have made the mark.  Gibson has marked the world (thanks, in large part, to the Beatles – but I'm sure Led Zeppelin didn't hurt) and become an instant classic.  Fender, whether it's the Precision or one of its many other classic models, has also earned its place.

The style that bass guitars used to have can claim, without difficulty, superiority to those of modern bass guitars.  What can we say?  Vintage bass guitars just have class.  They have charm.  They have a grace and royalty to them that has been lost in the time since, and it's no wonder than many musicians still prefer to play them rather than the bass options that have come since.
