Vintage blues guitars

The evolution of music is an interesting, and even important, topic for any musician.  Those who know their stuff know that it was blues that created Rock and Roll, Rhythm and Blues, Pop, Jazz, and various other genres, and as a result, almost everything we know in modern music.  The history of blues and its impact on music is long and significant in every single step.  Even today, many great players handle vintage blues guitars, and vintage blues guitars are a popular collector's item.

The Blues started in the South in the late 1800s as the African-American community began to really take hold of the music scene.  The fusion of spirituals, chants, work songs, and other “white music” of the time (like ragtime) created a unique sound which really struck a chord with its audiences.  As it spread, it adapted to different audiences, and eventually broke off into different genres.  The instrumentals, including the ever popular guitar, saw their transformation as well.   BB King, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, and many others made their impact on how the guitar was played, and as a result, many pay homage with vintage blues guitars that resemble those played by these musicians.

Blues is still alive and well, and its impact on other genres is immense.  Blues collectibles from its long and full history are still present in dozens of ways.  Old sheet music, photographs, vintage instruments (like the vintage blues guitar), and so on are all available for dedicated collectors.  Capturing a moment in the history of what would later spawn all of modern music is nothing to frown on, and paying homage by owning your own piece of it is nothing short of respectable.
